Pathfinder Society 2e Guide
| Introduction | Core Guide | Player Options | GM Options | Supplemental Materials |
Greetings, Pathfinder!
Welcome to the Guide to Organized Play: Pathfinder Society (Second Edition)!
The Guide is the home for campaign rules specific to the Pathfinder Society (PFS) organized play campaign. The Guide is available in the form of this website or as a single page (Guide, Supplemental, both). To print or get a PDF of the Guide, follow this link.
The Guide has the following sections:
- Core Guide: the rules everyone needs for PFS Organized Play
- Player Options and Tools: additional rules players can choose to use
- GM Options and Tools: additional rules GMs can choose to use
- Supplemental Materials: reference materials, including lists of retired character options
There are significant changes to the Pathfinder Society worldwide campaign which are reflected in this Guide as of version 8.00. They are summarized below:
| Effective Date | Rule Change | Notes |
| 30 July 2026 | All Pathfinder Society Scenarios are repeatable. | You can play any Scenario as often as you like, once per character as in the existing One Adventure per Character rule. |
| New Pathfinder Society characters can begin play at level 1, 3, 5, or 7. | This aligns with Starfinder Society (Second Edition), which has had the rule since launch. | |
| Credit earned by playing a pregenerated character can be applied to a new player character that begins play at the pregen’s level. | This rule follows from the previous rule and is a new addition to how pregen credit can be assigned. | |
| Pathfinder Provisions are no longer used. | In their place, Year 8 Scenarios have free consumables written in. For older Scenarios, each character receives one healing potion or oil of unlife of the character's level or lower. | |
| Coming soon | Adventures published on Pathfinder Infinite are playable for Pathfinder Society credit (subject to certain criteria). |

Organized Play Onboarding Tools & Resources
From your Onboarding Committee:
We are here to make it easier to start playing, running, or organizing Paizo Organized Play games.
Our goal is to provide streamlined tools or guidance for new players, new GMs, new Venture Officers with links to existing more in-depth materials. We are open to suggestions on what tools and information would be useful. We are, however, limited by our volunteer roles in what we can do and what is appropriate for us to develop. We have no influence on rules, world building, adventures, or other official Paizo material, nor anything on the Paizo website. Nor can we make changes to the Organized Play program.
The following are examples of the tools we intend to develop:
- a guide to making your first level 1 player character with the initial resource books
- a guide to factions for the Pathfinder second edition campaign
- a guide to initiating GMing for Paizo Organized Play
- a guide to starting an Organized Play lodge
If you have suggestions to update existing Onboarding Committee created tools or for what would help you or others start and enjoy playing, running, or organizing Paizo Organized Play games please contact us at pfsonboardingchair@gmail.com or fill out a request form.
